Website redesign in Redhill without losing pages that already work

Example illustration of a desk and blank wireframes. It is not a client's old website.

Quick answer: A redesign replaces what fails and keeps the addresses and facts that already bring enquiries. Old URLs should point at the closest new page. Starter at £150 or Business at £295 can be enough when the page count stays small. A shop, a diary or a much larger site is usually Growth at £495 or a quoted project.

Redhill firms often arrive with a site that is several years old: a phone number inside a picture, a menu that no longer matches the offer, and pages nobody links to. The rebuild should start from what still earns calls. The desk in the picture is an example of planning. The screen is blank. It is not a screenshot of anyone's previous website.

Changing the colour and the address and the phone number on the same day makes you look like a new company. Keep what customers already trust, and change what they trip over. That is a smaller project than a total replacement, and it should be priced as the smaller project.

What to keep

Keep the domain, the business name and the phone number unless there is a real reason to change them. Keep pages that describe a service you still sell, and rewrite them. Do not delete a useful page because the new design has no box for it.

Count the enquiries an old page still produces before you archive it. A quiet page about a service you still sell may be quiet because it is hard to find, not because nobody wants the work.

Drop pages that are out of date, duplicated, or about services you stopped. A shorter site is a successful redesign if every remaining page has a job. Website redesign on this site is that editing, not a new theme for its own sake.

Addresses and redirects

Every old address people or other sites might use needs one redirect to the closest new page. Sending everything to the homepage is how bookmarks die. We test the list before launch. Write it as old address, new address, and why that pair is the closest match.

If a service is gone, say so or send people to the nearest alternative. A soft error that looks like the whole site is broken is worse than a clear sentence.

New addresses should be short and stable. Avoid dates and a chain of town names. You will live with the address for years. If the old site used www and the new one does not, or the reverse, pick one and redirect the other. This site uses the address without www.

Content worth rewriting

Read the old pages aloud. Keep sentences a customer would still believe. Replace claims you cannot evidence, including borrowed reviews and numbers with no source. We will not carry those claims onto the new site to make the launch feel busy.

Photos of the old shopfront are fine if the shopfront is still true. If you have moved from a Redhill unit to a workshop elsewhere, the photos and the address change together. An illustrated desk is not a substitute for that photograph.

Our studio address stays 109A Brighton Road, Coulsdon, CR5 2NG. A redesign for a Redhill firm is not a reason for us, or for you, to invent a high-street office on the new footer.

Which package fits

Replacing a one-page brochure with another one-page brochure is Starter at £150. Splitting services that were crammed into one page is usually Business at £295 and up to five pages, with two revision rounds. A small refresh often starts around that Business figure, and a larger rebuild is priced after the address list is known.

Growth at £495 comes in when the redesign includes a blog, a modest shop, bookings, or eight to twelve pages. A change of colour is not Growth. A change of catalogue often is, and may be quoted above the package if the product count is large.

First-year domain, hosting and SSL are included when we set them up and you need them. If you already own the domain, it stays yours. Year two is usually around £60 to the providers. The design fee is not charged again unless you add pages.

The week after launch

After launch, watch the form, the phone link and addresses that still fail. A redesign is not finished on the evening it goes live. Plan a short period to fix what the first real visitors find. Tell regular customers if they book from memory.

A new menu that hides the phone number will feel like you have closed, even if the layout is clearer. Put the number in the header as a tap-to-call link, the same number as the Google profile.

A one-page rebuild is often ready in about a week once the redirects and the words are agreed. Business and Growth usually take two to four weeks. We will not promise that the new titles will outrank the old ones. We will promise the map of addresses is tested.

The domain stays yours

You should have the hosting login and the list of redirects. If something breaks on a Monday, you should know who can open the site. Optional later care is website maintenance, separate from the rebuild.

Do not use the redesign to add a block of town pages for Merstham, Earlswood, Reigate and Salfords unless each one says something different. Local SEO is consistency and useful pages, not a purchased position.

Qualifications, prices and reviews move only if they are still true. A new design does not make an old exaggeration acceptable.

What to bring

Bring the current address list, even if it is a spreadsheet, and the phone number you want to keep. Use contact. If you are still deciding the pages, read web design before the call so the quote is about your list.

Say what must not change: the name, a service people already search, a login your staff use. Those constraints make the redesign smaller and safer.
